Volunteering in a hospital volunteer program can be a rewarding and educational experience for any teenager. Most hospitals have summer youth volunteer programs that are designed to give teens, from freshmen to seniors, a look at the many different careers available within their facilities. Most high schools are provided with information on these programs during the first few months (January to March) of each year. Generally, summer volunteer programs begin in early June and end the first or second week of August.1

Some hospital programs are designed to allow college students to do volunteer work throughout the year. To find out more about these programs you should contact your local hospital to inquire about their availability.
