Healthcare Explorer Programs are available at many hospitals. These programs are sponsored by Boy Scouts of America and are open to any high school student, male or female, with an interest in Healthcare. The Healthcare Explorer program is designed to teach students about the different careers available in the healthcare industry. Most programs meet once a month, tour different areas of the hospital, and hear guest speakers from various hospital departments or area community healthcare fields. This is an excellent program, which educates and informs students about future career-based opportunities in healthcare while they gain an up-close and positive experience within the hospital. Contact your local Boy Scouts of America office to discover if there is a healthcare explorer scouting program in your community.
