RESPIRATORY CARE

Respiratory therapists treat patients with a variety of heart-lung disease problems that interfere with normal breathing. The treatments may be temporary, emergency, or long term. The therapist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring the respiratory equipment as well.

Completion of a two-year Associate, or four-year Baccalaureate program can prepare you for a career in respiratory care. There are national examinations required for certification and for registration.
