DIETETICS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

A registered dietitian must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university as mandated by the American Dietetic Association. In addition, a person must complete a supervised practice program that is accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE). Upon completion of these requirements, a person must then take the national examination, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). To maintain registration status, continued professional education classes are required each year.
